How long is the exam and what score do I need to pass?

MB-800 is 100 minutes and requires a score of 700 out of 1000 to pass. It is proctored through Pearson VUE (online or at a test center) and may include interactive or case-study components. Microsoft does not publish an exact question count.

Do I need to write code?

No. MB-800 is a functional-consultant exam focused on configuring Business Central through setup pages, configuration packages, dimensions, posting groups, and journals. The developer topics (AL programming) are covered by a separate exam, MB-820.

Is there a prerequisite?

No formal prerequisite. Microsoft recommends hands-on experience implementing and configuring Business Central and a working understanding of accounting principles and core business processes such as sales, purchasing, and inventory.

How is MB-800 different from MB-820?

MB-800 is the functional consultant exam (configuring Business Central, no code). MB-820 is the developer exam covering the AL programming language, objects, events, and extensions. Together they cover the functional and technical sides of Business Central.
