How We Write and Review Our Practice Questions
Last updated: 2026-08-03
Practice questions are only useful if they are accurate, exam-realistic, and actually teach the concept. This page explains how the CertGrid editorial team writes, structures, and maintains every question bank - so you know exactly what you are studying from.
1. Mapped to the published exam blueprint
Every exam is broken into the same skill domains the vendor publishes, and questions are distributed to match the official domain weighting. A full mock exam draws questions in the same proportions as the real test, so your practice score reflects the real blueprint rather than whichever topic we happened to write the most about.
2. Original questions, written to the objectives
Our questions are written from the published exam objectives and vendor documentation. They are not official vendor items, and they are not copied, recalled, or scraped from live exams. We do not use, sell, or condone braindumps or "real exam questions" - using leaked exam content violates vendor policy and can get your certification revoked. CertGrid is a study aid, not a shortcut.
3. Structured explanations on every question
Each question includes a full explanation, not just a correct letter:
- A concise summary of the right answer.
- A detailed explanation of why the correct answer is correct and the underlying mechanism.
- A specific reason each incorrect option is wrong, so distractors teach instead of just filling space.
The goal is that a missed question leaves you understanding the concept, not memorizing a position.
4. Distractor and answer-quality checks
We screen banks for the patterns that make practice questions misleading: answer options whose length or phrasing gives the answer away, questions whose wording leaks their own answer, near-duplicate items, and weak or implausible distractors. Flagged items are rewritten so the question tests knowledge, not test-taking tricks.
5. Reviewed and dated
Certifications change - objectives get updated, services get renamed, exam versions get refreshed. We review and expand banks on an ongoing basis to keep them aligned with the current exam version. Every practice and study-guide page shows the date its bank was last reviewed, so freshness is visible rather than assumed.
6. Honest about what practice can and cannot do
No practice platform can guarantee a pass, and we never claim one. What good practice does is show you where you are strong, where you are weak, and whether you are ready - so you book the real exam with evidence, not hope. See our readiness tools and per-domain analytics for how we surface that.
Found an error?
We take accuracy seriously. If you believe a question is wrong or out of date, please tell us - see our correction policy. Reported issues are reviewed by the editorial team and corrected where valid.
