HashiCorp Vault Operations Advanced Study Guide

The HashiCorp Vault Operations Professional (HCVOP) exam validates the skills to run HashiCorp Vault in production rather than merely use it as a client. It is a 60-minute, multiple-choice exam covering server configuration with Integrated Storage (Raft), monitoring through audit devices and telemetry, the Vault security model of policies, tokens, identity, and namespaces, fault-tolerant clustering with HA plus DR and performance replication, production hardening, and performance scaling. It targets Vault operators and platform engineers responsible for deploying, securing, and running Vault clusters at scale, building on - and going well beyond - the foundational Vault Associate exam.

Real exam: Lab + MCQ · 240 min · The real exam is a 4-hour, online-proctored professional exam (15-minute break included) that runs a Vault ENTERPRISE binary and pairs lab-based scenarios - completing tasks in a pre-provisioned Linux environment, each lab scored independently - with multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions, some of which require interacting with the live Vault instance. CertGrid provides MCQ readiness practice for the concepts and scenarios, not a live terminal lab.
