Exam AB-730 leads to the Microsoft Certified: AI Business Professional certification. It is a no-code exam for business users who use generative-AI productivity tools - primarily Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents such as Researcher and Analyst - to work more efficiently, drive business outcomes, and make informed decisions, without building AI apps or writing code. A passing score is 700 out of 1000. Three skill areas are measured: Understand generative AI fundamentals (25-30%), Manage prompts and conversations by using AI (35-40%), and Draft and analyze business content by using AI (25-30%). You should be comfortable navigating core Microsoft 365 apps - Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel - and familiar with prompts, agents, notebooks, and pages, and with everyday business tasks such as drafting emails, creating presentations, and managing documents.

Study guide FAQ

What certification does AB-730 lead to, and is it hands-on?

Passing AB-730 earns the Microsoft Certified: AI Business Professional certification. A score of 700 or greater is required to pass. It is a knowledge-based, no-code exam - you are not asked to build AI apps or write code, only to use Microsoft 365 Copilot effectively.

Who is AB-730 for?

It is for business professionals who use generative-AI productivity tools - Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents such as Researcher and Analyst - to improve daily work and decisions. You should be comfortable in Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel and with common business tasks.

Do I need any coding or developer knowledge?

No. AB-730 is explicitly a no-code exam for business users. The agent-building it covers is the simple, declarative Copilot experience (Agent Store and templates), not the pro-code Copilot Studio development that exam AB-620 covers.

How is AB-730 different from AB-620?

AB-730 (AI Business Professional) is about using Microsoft 365 Copilot productively - prompts, conversations, and drafting and analyzing business content - with no code. AB-620 (AI Agent Builder Associate) is a developer exam about building and integrating custom agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio.
