The other half of the addresses objective. Everything from the IPv4 guide applies with ipv6. in place of ipv4., so this is short - and the one thing worth noticing is the link-local address that appears without being asked for.

ipv6.method has more values than IPv4's: auto (router advertisements), dhcp, manual, link-local, shared, ignore and disabled. auto is the default and is why an interface has an IPv6 address on a network you thought was IPv4 only.

Use this for the other half of the addresses objective. This matters because IPv6 on nmcli takes the same shape as IPv4 - a method, an address, a gateway - so everything you already know transfers directly.

- A sudo-capable account.
