How CertGrid questions are reviewed

Every bank is written and maintained by our team against the vendor's current skills outline - not copied or scraped from exam content. Each question is mapped to a published concept, every answer carries an explanation covering why the right option is right and why each wrong option is wrong, and banks are re-reviewed whenever the exam changes. Individual exam pages show the date each bank was last reviewed.

Frequently asked questions

Which GitHub certification should I start with?

GH-900 Foundations is the entry point and assumes no prior GitHub experience - it covers Git basics, repositories, collaboration, and the wider GitHub platform. After that the four role-based exams stand alone, so pick by what you actually do: GH-200 Actions for CI/CD and automation, GH-300 Copilot for AI-assisted development, GH-500 Advanced Security for application security, and GH-100 Enterprise Administrator for platform administration.

Are these official GitHub exam questions?

No. CertGrid is an independent practice platform and is not affiliated with or endorsed by GitHub. We do not provide real or leaked exam questions - ours are original and written to mirror the concepts, scenarios, and difficulty style of the GitHub certification exams.

Is there a free way to practice?

Yes. Free users get a fixed set of 20 practice questions for each exam, retryable anytime. Pro unlocks the full question bank, complete explanations, and timed, exam-length mock exams.

What is the GitHub exam format?

All five are multiple-choice and multiple-select, run 100 minutes, and require a score of 700 or greater on a scaled 1-1000 range. GH-900 Foundations and GH-200 Actions carry about 60 questions; GH-300 Copilot, GH-500 Advanced Security, and GH-100 Enterprise Administrator carry about 75. Some exams include interactive components.

Has the GH-100 exam changed recently?

Yes. GitHub significantly restructured the GH-100 Enterprise Administrator skills-measured breakdown in July 2026. Our bank is built against the current five-domain structure - identity and access, deployment and licensing, securing the enterprise, governing Actions, and monitoring usage and cost - rather than the older split. Each exam page shows when its bank was last reviewed.

Where do I take a GitHub certification exam?

GitHub certifications are delivered through Microsoft’s certification platform, and the official study guides and skills-measured breakdowns are published on Microsoft Learn. Exams are proctored, and you register through the GitHub certification portal.
